::Mid-2012 13″ MacBook Air
I’ve figured out how to disable tap-to-click, now I have to figure out how to disable two finger scrolling as I’m constantly getting extra unintended movements from my palms.

::@mcpderez Thanks for your process information. Unless you have shared your how to disable tap-to-click tip elsewhere, drop another note with a quick explanation. One thing that sometimes causes me issues is the synaptics keypad, used to provide mouse movement and selection. Whenever possible I plug in a USB mouse and then I completely disable the keypad/trackpad. User PPC wrote a tool that he shared elsewhere to enable and disable keypad/trackpad activity.
I’m here at the moment with our sibling distribution, MX Linux, as I update the distributions on my newest computer (which I regularly “multi-boot”).

::@rokytnji – I’m a bit jealous that you have better results with the 5.10.153-antix.1-amd64-smp kernel than I’ve had.
My HP-14 won’t work with it at all unless logging in and running without a network counts as “working”, and my Dell Inspiron 5558 laptop is the one that’s worked so well with so many different things – EXCEPT the 5.10 kernel, which has strangely given it problems from day 1, whether it’s a Debian version, an MX version, or an antiX version. The really exasperating factor is that from time to time it’ll work, but it’s just not reliable, and I can’t deal with that because I’m constantly reading, viewing, or testing something somewhere. My wife prefers watching the TV; I prefer research, analysis and testing; that’s how my brain is wired I guess!At the moment I’m here with this environment, though I’m getting 6.2.14 version kernels installed on most of my distributions today –

::I’m here today with antiX 22, after running Debian Sid (surprisingly no package changes), EndeavourOS, and MX Linux – which I currently have set up to control my boot loader because it is stable AND I use it as such – very little experimenting.
Of course antiX is stable too, but both the release version and the Beta 1 version are systems where I experiment a lot. Most of the time the experiments are safe – but not always, and that’s why I’ve chosen another system to host the boot loader. However, I do actually set up a boot loader on most of my systems; I just don’t write all of them to the MBR (at least not on this hardware; I HAVE done that on other systems and it actually works; it still allows me to have a default boot loader or press the boot function key at startup to navigate and select another boot loader. While these are not the kind of things most users should even consider, if you happen to be a wild experimenter with enough experience to reinstall and/or reconfigure when you introduce a disaster, and you have appropriate measures in place to backup and recover your work, then my bias is to experiment and learn; that’s how I figured a lot of things – I deliberately went past the normal boundaries to determine the extent of what’s possible and what’s not possible, so I found out that boot loaders can be numerous; I’ve also used GRUB, refind, syslinux and other loaders on the same hardware and these will also work, though it’s possible to obliterate data if you are not appropriately cautious – I’ve gone wild with that in the past too!
Anyway, this current setup is reasonably peaceful and it interoperates well with the other systems on the same hardware.
This is the current information for the current release on my HP-14 laptop:

::I moved over to antiX 23 Beta 1 so we have a relative comparison between antiX 22 and antiX 23; I’m pretty sure they are minimal; I have nearly identical software applications installed and they feel similar in use.
For what it’s worth, occasionally I have inexplicable instances where I can’t use or select the text widget in a Web browser and it even seems to freeze – when I am using MX Linux 21.3, but this has never happened during the entire antiX 21 – 23 lifecycle. It’s sporadic and it’s not a constant thing with MX Linux either, but I’ve experienced it a few times, NEVER here.
Too bad I’ve not been able to isolate or determine the root cause; I’d like to see it fixed if I could help in any way.
As for us, all is very well!

::I spent the last few hours looking into using and choosing the editor of my personal choice with the EDITOR, VISUAL and visudo options.
There are indeed ways to change any and all of them. Configuration files can set and alter the default editor and visudo also has a similar sudo.conf file where the desired editor can be set and changed.
