::Nice work @trashthrasher
What do you plan to install on your base configuration – or are you going to use whatever is there now and run super lean?

::I happen to be using a Debian Sid distribution called siduction.
They do a nice job with the installation and other than their distinctive personal default appearance,
a kernel removal tool and a couple of their own utilities, it’s otherwise pretty pure and true Debian Sid.
As most distributions are now doing, they put in enough “nonfree” software to be able to run wireless.
Otherwise, for people like me, where I can’t even find a nearby Ethernet connection anywhere, this is
necessary, so it’s appreciated and it works well.--

::The playoffs rivalry goes back to the days when Bill Russell battled Wilt Chamberlain, and later Julius Serving (Dr. J) battled Larry Bird.
Indeed! I spent many hours playing as them on my Apple II.

::@rokytnji ‘supercharges’ everything! 😉
We might want to show that to h2, since inxi/pinxi is his baby and he’s been making a few changes.

Whether I watched on TV or not, back in the old days I enjoyed listening to Johnny Most and his hoarse, scrappy and biased announcing — ‘What a play by Bird’!
When the ‘bad boy’s Detroit Pistons challenged the Celtics in the Eastern Conference, even the TV announcers alternately patched in two of the most exciting and biased sports radio announcers of that era, George Blaha for Detroit and Johnny Most for the Celtics.

::I install Audacious for music, Firefox-ESR for web browsing & Pulseaudio from the package installer. I compile Audacity & Terminator from source for terminals. I also run pCloud from an AppImage for cloud storage & made a .desktop file which is added to my “personal” menu. I remove Ceni & GnomePPP as I’ve never used them.

::Starting out my exercise of updating my distributions on my lead system, the HP-14.
This morning I’m starting out updating EndeavourOS. Believe it or not, I switched
to KDE Plasma here, NOT because I need it, mainly because I have a friend who loves
eye candy and has nothing else to do but buy used sports cars (Mustang and Corvette
high performance), and he usually has around EIGHT laptops, and he puts colorful
skins on their outside and runs the latest Plasma desktop, so for the purposes of
conversation I have one instance of Plasma running.On my newest system Plasma runs just fine. KDE was the first true desktop
environment I ran on one of my computers. Prior to that, the closest I came
to a true desktop environment was fvwm-crystal, which is the fvwm window manager,
a lot of wallpaper and appearance improvements, plus a few apps to go with it,
so in that sense it was a precursor to the first KDE and the GNOME and Xfce
desktop environments, so as a historian at this point in my life, I still
occasionally check these out, but all I really need is a really basic GUI;
I put together most of my own configurations anyway.I will say that KDE Plasma today is functional, efficient and attractive
and it’s not horrible on resource usage on a modern system; I just don’t
need what it provides, and when I run something like antiX I, of course,
never use it. Instead I’ve put it on either openSUSE, Mandriva, or
EndeavourOS, and I’ve tried the MX Linux instance of KDE Plasma once or
twice too.Other than writing a few forum posts before I move on, that’s all
I will be doing here, so you can see it’s just window dressing; don’t
need it!--
