Hi,
Several threads have been started by posters who simply were using a repo that wasn’t fully functional. Their problems were solved by selecting an alternative repository. Today, I noticed that the repository I had been using wasn’t responding. I switched to another repo and download of updates proceeded normally.
I know there is a site that lists the current status of repositories (https://antixlinux.com/mirmon/antix-mirror-status.html), which is a good starting point to identify nonworking repos, but it apparently isn’t completely accurate.
There is a thread fixed at the top of the forum list, titled “package mirrors list”. Unfortunately, that isn’t a simple list of currently working AND nonworking sites, so it isn’t that easy to use to report NONworking sites.
I suggest putting a link at the OP on that thread to a thread titled “Nonworking repositories, updating list” (like this one <g>).
It might be limited to status reports (“repo x not working today”, “repo y working back to normal after being slow yesterday”) for simplicity.
Report: 13 Jul 2022 – mirror.umd.edu/mxlinux not working for me.

::Well. What about what does not work for one works for another in another part of the world.
I, like you. Have experienced repo errors on apt update.
I never really other thought much after years of the same operating system.
Sometimes. I go outside of USA close locations and just try Vietnam or Greek repo addresses.
So not a big deal for me.
Never has been a big deal as a full time release tester over the years keeping Beta and Alpha installs current and running on a couple boxes during testing.
So I probably aint the audience to be commenting on this.I use this site from time to time to check on downed sites also

::Hi rokytnji,
I take your points.
I only suggest this because I have seen several instances of threads with multiple posts where the basic problem was the posters didn’t realize that the repo was dysfunctional and another one should be tried which might simply work.
I think that is a good tactic before posting about a failed install or update problem.

::Regarding the location of repositories, in recent months the response to repositories on our shores have been very good on antiX, though on some repositories on other systems I’ve had to find sites such as ones in the Netherlands and elsewhere. I’ve rarely seen that issue on any Debian-based systems or sysvinit or runit alternatives either.

::Checking if mirror.upb.edu.co is down or it is just you…
It’s not just you! mirror.upb.edu.co is down. That is what I get on a down repo site for MX Linux repo url. From that site check link I posted.
Evowise was one repo I ran for awhile
Checking if mirrors.evowise.com is down or it is just you…
It’s just you. mirrors.evowise.com is up.Back when antiX Steve site repo would go offline from time to time, Due to outside down time for what ever reason. Remember. We had a repo line for that.
That site check site was a big time saver for me.Sometimes I drive a crooked road to get my mind straight.
