Hello, I just installed Antix Core (no X yet) on my 2009 Macbook Pro following Dolphin Oracle’s Youtube guide from 2014. The second video in that series is about installing a new kernel. Antix installed 4.9.0-279-antix.1-amd64-smp. Should I stick with this kernel or add a new one? Thank you! Rob

        Hello!

It really depends on your hardware.
If you decide to keep using the 4.9 series, then upgrade to the latest in the repos (4.9.0-326-antix.1).
You can always try other kernels, but make sure you keep at least one reliable working one.

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

Appreciate the tip…. I installed the latest I had in my sources search. It was a 686-smp-pae and it did not work. Do I need an “amd” labeled kernel? If so I may need to change my sources to get it. Thanks — Rob

            Yes use the same architecture.

Here is a reference to help understand the different kernel designations. See the table 2.1.1.
