Forum › Forums › New users › New Users and General Questions › Why is “recommended” kernel for Antix 17 still shown as 4.9.240?
[My apologies for previously asking this question in the Kernel Upgrades – Announcements thread.]
The Security-Kernel-Uprades post (in the Announcement block at top of main forum page) at https://www.antixforum.com/spectre-and-meltdown-security-kernel-upgrades/ shows the recommended kernel for Antix 17 as 4.9.0-240. As far as I can see, kernel 4.9.0-264 works okay.
Is there a reason to stick with the older kernel on Antix 17?
Anti may be able to explain in more detail, but I think not as they are now changed.
So likely only needed a fresh set of eyes to point out the documentation error for us devs/admins 😉 .

Dave,
I appreciate your quick answer. I see the Announcement has been updated to recommend the new kernel.
Thank you.
