Connman can’t “see” the wireless network (it’s not in the list of available networks). I connect to this network from another laptop without problem. About the laptop which has the problem:

::Hi andfree, have to ask,
does the wifi kill switch make any difference. On L10 it is to the right of the display latch.Please post output from ifconfig and iwconfig so helpers have a bit more info to work with.

::Usually windows XP era laptop’s wi-fi cards can’t connect to networks that use modern encryption. Can you connect to your wi-fi network with that laptop, when using a different OS? If not, then that is what is wrong with your computer and it’s not an antiX or a Connman problem.
From your post I assume that you can see a list of available wi-fi networks- so it seems both your wi-fi card and connman are working fine- but it’s not picking up your wi-fi network. Probably your computer is detecting “open networks” (example, from hotspots, etc). If you are lucky, the problem is because you are using “5G” wi-fi network (by that I don’t mean real 5G cellular signal, but a kind the kind of band the wi-fi signal uses), and your wi-fi card can accept the encryption but is just too old to be able to detect that band. If so, you can switching the routers radio band.
If the problem is the wi-fi card being too outdated, you can buy a USB one for about a dozen Euros (about the same in US Dollars)… that was what I did in my old Hp 32bits laptop…

::Your network is detected correctly:
Network: Device-1: Realtek RTL-8100/8101L/8139 PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter vendor: Toshiba driver: 8139too v: 0.9.28 port: 3800 bus-ID: 02:02.0 IF: eth0 state: down mac: <filter> Device-2: Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG [Calexico2] Network driver: ipw2200 v: 1.2.2kmprq port: 3800 bus-ID: 02:04.0 IF: eth1 state: dormant mac: <filter>However, the interface is defined as eth1.
Check the file (/etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net-rules) if the PCI device ‘ipw2200’ is eth1. If yes, delete the file and reboot.
Connman should now show you the wifi.May 5, 2022 at 10:04 am #82690Memberandfree
::Thanks to all of you for the replies. I didn’t believe it, but it seems that the problem was that the distance from the router was too much for this wi-fi card. I’ve just carried the laptop near to the router, and it’s ok. Really sorry for wasting your time.

::Hi andfree, not a waste of time.
For follow up readers, going very near to the router can be a big help especialy
in areas with a lot of wireless networks others may be on same channel and either have a stronger or near same strength signal. You will fail to connect.Quick and easy to check with a smartphone using WiFiAnalyzer application from FDroid store.

::Another possibility: Make sure both your computer and router are properly set to and recognize your country, b/c if not, your signal may be throttled to a LOWER default (supposedly legal everywhere). See the command: “iw reg get”. For example, here in the US, most channels will be capped at 30w, whereas w/o the country-code setting, will be limited to 20w.
