      Greetings,

      Noob question again. Can someone walk me through installing Wicd Antix 17.1 base. I read it was included in the distro but not installed.

      I did a search of this site for topics previously discussed. No info on this. I’m sure it due to the simplistic nature of the question.

      I simply prefer Wicd. No other reason.

      Thanks in advance,

      Red

        1. using your favorite package manager (synaptic, cli-aptiX, whatever….) find and install “wicd”. this will bring in wicd-daemon and wicd-gtk (which is the client).

        2. edit as root /etc/default/wicd to and change the

        START_DAEMON=no

        to

        START_DAEMON=yes

        3. reboot. that should do it.

          You are using the base version of antix.
          Wicd is not included in base.
          You can install it with synaptic or use ceni.
          Heres some explaination what:s the difference between base and full.

            Thanks folks. I was apparently working on some incorrect info.

            I am installing 64 full as we speak. Thanks.

              Before installation, when booting the live-stick, you can set wicd with the F4 options .
              This will make it autostart at boot after the installation.
