I’ve been using 17.4 on a 386 intel atom netbook which runs great. So I thought I’d try the latest 19 base. I like the new look and feel, great job but I cannot get WiFi to work. The new WiFi manager cannot see the wireless adapter at all. Lspci sees the Ralink RT2790 adapter. I installed the ralink firmware but still WiFi manager does not find it. I installed ceni (I read this can conflict with the new WiFi manager) and that ‘sees’ the WiFi but fails on a scan for networks. Any advice please as I’m stuck now. Gone back to 17.4 for the time being.

When I first used connman, it took a long time to find my card, what I tend to do/did was to make sure wifi is active, then disconnect/stop & reconnect/start the wifi a couple of times until it found it, but it did take quite a while, i.e. minutes not seconds. Seems to work OK once it has found & configured your adapter, though ceni or wicd are easier.

        Linux (& BSD) since 1999

First time using connman I had to turn the wifi on in the connman-system-tray under status
If you like to use ceni instead of connman, look here

          ceni instead of connman
