Tagged: wifi android hotspot
I access the internet from Antix 19 and Mx 19 (two separate computers) via wifi from a mobile phone or tablet hotspot. Phone (samsung A11) and tablet (samsung tab5e) have been upgraded to the latest Android in the last week. Phone and tablet now refuse (or ignore) wifi connection requests. Tablet now has a new hotspot configuration option (on or off): “protected management frames” said to afford the hotspot greater security when ‘on’. Phone does not have this option (assume fixed ‘on’). Tablet accepts connections with option ‘off’. How can I configure Antix to request wifi connections without using the offending frames, and, what are the implications ? Many thanks

This is another great android security update, you may be able to work around it but antiX can not change settings on your phone.
I do not have a “Samsung burning phone device” any more so can not check directly, there may be a setting in the developer options
to let your phone connect as before.
As a user I would also post the question on Samsung forums and XDA.
My daughters phone swelled up, case burst, got it outside quickly, it burnt out. Samsung did not even bother to answer or comment on
the issue. I buy nothing from that dangerous company anymore.
