      Hi to everybody,

During the last days, I can’t connect to the net, and the wifi monitor in the taskbar of IceWM has disappeared. The same problem had also appeared to a secondary laptop I use, but I didn’t have the time to deal with it. When the problem appeared also to the laptop I mainly use, I thought that it had to do with dist-upgrade.

So, today, I re-installed antiX on the secondary laptop, and the wifi was ok. Then, I ran “apt-get update”, and the wifi was still ok. When, however, I ran “apt-get dist-upgrade”, the wifi problem reappeared. (On the main laptop, I haven’t done anything yet.)

I hope there’s an easy way for the problem to be solved.

Hi, could you boot into the laptop and transfer output of ‘inxi -Fxzr’ and ‘/var/log/apt/history.log’ and post them here?
This could help identify the issue (probably not me because I am not an expert on wi-fi).

You can boot using LiveUSB where the wi-fi will hopefully work or copy the output to TXT file and transfer via USB.

          Thanks for the reply.

A message that seems to be relative appeared (I haven’t noticed it before):

              Regarding /var/log/apt/history.log, see the attachment.

Is it possible the removal of connman-iptables:i386 has caused the problem?

                  Removal of ‘connman-iptables’:
Perhaps, this could be the cause; I did search for ‘connman-iptables’ on the forum and it pointed me to https://www.antixforum.com/forums/topic/package-connman-iptables/#post-85164
The person also (indirectly) provides a fix; I believe (based on other discussions) the idea is to switch from ‘connman’ to ‘ceni’.

Andfree, for you to try to use the solution that Sybok suggested, click on the antiX Menu > Applications > antiX WiFi Switch. Click on the button labeled “Ceni”.

No need to switch to Ceni. You can open antiX-wifi-switcher & choose Connman again. It works for me every time the connection is lost, for any reason.

I remind that this topic is “solved”.
