I have installed Antix 17.1 (stretch) on an Intel stck1a32wfc computer which plugs into my tv set.
In order to get hdmi sound, I upgraded to the 4.15.9 kernel. However this still does not
get me a wireless internet connection with the internal Realtek rtl8723bs sdio adapter
and I have to use a usb dlink adapter also.I have also installed MX 17.1 on another partition on the same stick. This installs out of the box
with both hdmi sound and the internal wireless adapter working. The kernel is 4.15.0-1 (I think from memory).My question is – Can I replace the Antix kernel with the MX kernel so that I do not have to bother with an additional USB wireless adapter?
The MX kernel has the required r8723bs.ko driver and the Antix kernel does not.
If so, how can I do this or is there another better way to fix the problem?
With Antix 17.1, apart from the the innovative way that the lights turn on when the computer starts up, I particularly like the information panel on the right hand side which shows how much data is being sent in both directions. I have a slow internet connection and this information helps to show if anything is not quite right.

::You can use the MX kernel.
Or maybe it will work to copy that firmware from MX to antiX
I’ll include it on our next kernel build.
Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.
antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

::To Forum Admin:
I tried copying but made such a hash of it that I had to reinstall. Next I would like to try to install the MX kernel – but I don’t know how to, so I would like to request more help please. If I was running MX and trying to install an Antix kernel, then I could do it with the MX package installer but the Antix package installer doesn’t give me the option as far as I can see. With my limited knowledge, I can’t get any further???
Thanks Polly -
