I installed 19.1 64bit on my Acer Aspire 1 laptop replacing 17.4.1. All went as expected, and on the reboot Ceni searched for and connected to my local network on wlan0. I installed a few essentials and ran apt-get update and apt-get dist-upgrade.

At the next boot conky showed the wlan0 network as present and available but neither chromium nor firefox would connect to it. Nor would the apt-get updateing module. I searched through the suggestions as similar network trouble has already been reported, but did not find any straightforward fix that I could have confidence to try out.

I therefore reverted to 17.4.1 which is now a good option but will give 19 another try when I see a suggestion that I have confidence in.

I did notice that desktop icons that do not show on 17.4.1 are showing on 19.1.

Thanks in appreciation and best wishes in these troubled times.

I am not certain on the fix at the moment but on a fresh testing install I had the same, network up but not working. I needed to add a name server in /etc/resolv.conf like
        nameserver 8.8.8.8
Not certain how to make it permanent or automatic.
