As far as I know it doesn’t show which package each application was installed under, but it does give a quick description of each program it shows.
Correct, but for most cases, it shows the exec command, which contains the launcher name, that usually also matches the package name related to the application.

For vim users just in case they somehow purge it – you can also use
busybox vi
as a lightweight backup already included.
