Before I start reinventing the wheel,
has anyone in the forum succesfully used this way of creating a bootable antiX stick.

I will order a usb OTG adapter for my phone, intend to try and create a bootable thumbdrive with EtchDroid
      downloaded from fDroid store.
The application is in Beta but if it works a very useful tool.

A play store application, actually I have no play store, no goog either.
One on APK Pure bombards with ads and according to a forum info installs crapware in background.

        Try this, mate: https://www.buildsometech.com/create-bootable-usb-from-android/

The app can be downloaded from here: https://iso-2-usb.en.aptoide.com/app

I never tested this, just read about it…

          Thanks PPC,
I had seen the article along with a few others. My Lemony experience has made me cautious with
applications, one of the things I installed was from Play and reported safe and virus free.
I had to reset phone to get rid of the crap it downloaded in the background.

          The app you linked
Requires an already downloaded ISO file but wants com android billing and full network permission.
          Smells somewhat fishy.

I will order an adapter and try the FDroid offering. The capability to use a phone for preparation
of a boot device could be very useful anywhere that a computer with an intact os is a rarety.
See if Marcello has looked in to this idea.

My present phone is so ridiculusly overpowered I may be able to make some real use of it.

            Hello ModdIt.

The idea is very good indeed, but since the last WhasApp and Telegram updates (I use it due to antiX & MX Linux Brazil groups), there is only 512 MB of storable memory left on my device, it is impossible to use the device to install the antiX full ISO. Anyway the idea is very good and can be extremely useful for several people.

            Thanks a lot.

            Obrigado.

              Hallo Marcello,
I will test some applications shortly.

any phone which supports OTG and where you can add storage should work.

If and as normal travel resumes maybe I can get a hand carry to sao paulo then post onward.
Will try and find a helper and decent device for you.

I have good news, Matheus guided me and taught me how to remove Android from Moto E and install eFoundation /e/OS using antiX. Now the device is much faster, it has almost 1.5 GB of free internal storage space and it is now possible to use the smartphone to install antiX. My thanks to Matheus.
