The default burning speed for Xfburn is “Max”. All the rest five speed options appear as “0”. I checked it in two old laptops with different versions of Xfburn (0.5.2 & 0.5.4).
I also checked it in a desktop computer with 0.5.2 version. The only difference is that, except the default (“Max”) speed, only one “0” speed option appears.
No,I cant confirm this.Tried xfburn 0.5.4 on a Lenovo t60 laptop.There are different speeds to select.Also burned succesfully a antix17 base iso.
If you tried on different hardware with both versions maybe the cd’s are somehow not functional.

You are right as regards that it has to do with the CDs. When I use a new CD-R, there are different speeds to select. Until now, I was trying with CDs-RW that I had already burnt and afterwards I had blanked (regardless if slow or fast mode) with Xfburn and, in those cases, only the max speed option is available.
