      Hello!
      I installed XFCE.
Shutdown and restart functions in XFCE do not work. The buttons are grey. I can only go out.
What can be done to make the shutdown and restart functions available in XFCE?

Hi, what is your antiX version (please post inxi -Fzr)?
If it is (based on) ‘core’, then you may have to install additional tools/programs (related to ACPI, I believe) missing for turning off to work; discussed elsewhere in the forum.

        How did you install XFCE?
        Do you have ‘xfce4-power-manager’ installed?

I installed XFCE from the repository via apt.

Yes, I made sudo apt install xfce4-power-manager -y too.

Shutdown and restart buttons are unavailable

You might try looking at the Package Installer version to see if it gives the same results.

usually that is a indicator that some dbus component is missing. maybe dbus-user-session or dbus-X11.

                dbus-X11 already installed.

The package dbus-user-session is mentioned in repo but missing. It’s empty

If you booted from USB you could install the light package installer version and see if it works there…

You could also try installing the full package and see if it works there.

If you just install the individual package from the repos, that is what you should expect to get, plus any missing dependencies.

Again, what was wrong with those two that you instead chose to install the individual package from the repos (the standard version from Debian)? It isn’t WRONG to do that, but that means you will need to integrate anything that doesn’t already work out of the box, because antiX is not the same as Debian.

I can confirm that installing from the packaginstaller, my xfce shutdown/logout buttons do work.

if the user installed manually, what is probably missing is something to satisfy logind. the packageinstaller entry installs elogind. without elogind the shutdown/reboot options are disabled. I presume some other package that provides logind depend would work, but have not tried them. the classic consolekit does not.
