      Hi Guys,

I have annoying problem with terminal where tab-completion and fancy colors works only for root user.
I suspect something wrong with config files. I tried to look at bash.bashrc, /etc/profile, /home/m/.bashrc, /root/.bashrc, but I cant find anything wrong. Please also note that I haven’t change those.

      My system:
      antiX-17_386-core.iso

      Build up with:
      xserver-xorg x11-xserver-utils xfonts-base x11-utils
      lightdm lightdm-gtk-greeter
      xfce4 xfce4-goodies

Basically I follow great videos of “Run with the Dolphin” (Many thanks d.o. BTW)

      Maybe screenshot will be helpful.

      Thanks for help,
      Marcin

(disclaimer: I haven’t messed with “core” for a while. The following is offered as a troubleshooting step, not as a definitive solution)

        read this: https://askubuntu.com/questions/566399/why-isnt-profile-sourced-when-opening-a-terminal
        and examine your xfce4-terminal settings.
Look for a preference described something like “Treat shell as a login shell?” and choose Yes (or checkmarked enabled)

In that terminal shell where “colors and tab completion are missing”, what environment variables are set?
        $env

Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.
