Question, urxvt comes with .Xresources including these lines:
      !! urxvt colours
      # include “.config/xresources.d/xcolours/antix.conf”

How do I apply this color scheme line? I removed the # but xrdb gives a “missing colon” error.

I’ve attached my .Xresources file if there are any other tips, as the color scheme there doesn’t seem to be working either.

      Thanks! arp

I uncommented the line in .Xresources and ran urxvt from the menu without any problem.

          Did you change anything?

What version of antiX do you have, and is it up to date?

The default antiX ~/.Xresources file does, already, source the “antix.conf” file
and those antiX -curated colors are, already, displayed by default.

            excerpt from
            man xrdb
            regarding comment lines within ~/.Xresources

Lines that begin with an exclamation mark (!) are ignored and may be used as comments.

System is up to date (below).
I now took out the first four .Xresources lines, but that makes urxvt white rather than solarized, which is what I think the color package is. I also tried using only the “xcalc” and “colours” lines (the original .Xresources file). I figured out they point to separate config files. When I do that, I get an xrdb error on “line 92”, but none of these files has 92 lines. So Kinda confused now. Thanks for looking at the issue….

                From the man rxvt page:

                “RESOURCES
Note: `urxvt –help’ gives a list of all resources (long options) compiled into your version. All resources are also available as long-
                options.

You can set and change the resources using X11 tools like xrdb. Many distribution do also load settings from the ~/.Xresources file when X
starts. urxvt will consult the following files/resources in order, with later settings overwriting earlier ones:

                1. app-defaults file in $XAPPLRESDIR
                2. $HOME/.Xdefaults
                3. RESOURCE_MANAGER property on root-window of screen 0
                4. SCREEN_RESOURCES property on root-window of the current screen
                5. $XENVIRONMENT file OR $HOME/.Xdefaults-<nodename>
                6. resources specified via -xrm on the commandline”

The urvt –help does not give examples, but it does provide the resource names and the data types for each resource.

Alternatively, command arguments to rxvt or urxvt can be specified to select many resources; the man page covers these too.
See if either of them provide the specific resources that you are looking for.

Did any of the suggestions offered so far help?
