Dear All, I have tried installing Zoom_amd64.deb on AntiX 19.4 BASE version. No success. Have tried via repository on the terminal. As well as this, have tried downloading the package from the Zoom website, and using gdebi to install. No success. I would appreciate your help and advice please? Thank you, paddydr

You need to give more info than that.
If you are using the 32 bit version, zoom won’t work since it is 64bit only.

I just downloaded the zoom deb from their site (Debian 8) version 5.7.6 and cd into the Download directory (where the deb is)

        sudo apt install ./zoom_amd64.deb

It errors but tells you what to do

        sudo apt --fix-broken install

This is on fresh antiX-19.4-base (64bit) no changes to default repos.

Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

          Hi,

the method mentioned by anticapitalista should work.

I sometimes open the package (basically an archive with defined structure), there usually is some file that contains dependencies.
          It is called ‘INFO’.
I copy-paste the dependencies to an auxiliary file and install them in advance to avoid the need for running ‘sudo apt –fix-broken install’.

Also, zoom can be used via web-interface (sometimes, the capabilities of via-web applications is limited, some work better in Chromium-based browsers).

Dear All, Thank you very much. That worked. I now have the zoom 64bit program installed on my PC running 64bit antiX 19.4. I missed out the CD change directory stage originally. Thanks again. All the best, paddydr
