Hi,
I installed ZOOM .Deb from the Zoom download center, following the instructions of anticapitalista in August.
It seemed to work fine, but today when I was working with a presentation and using the screen share, the screen share controls are are gone if I start and then exit a slideshow.
Looked around on the internet, didn’t see anything about this as a bug.
I just upgraded to the current version of ZOOM, but that didn’t fix it.
Keyboard shortcuts to leave screenshare (Alt + S) or to show controls (Ctl + \) don’t work.
Appreciate any ideas.
I need to use this in a few days to teach a class.
Thanks.

No idea, sorry. But having to rely on proprietary software is a nightmare (even on linux).
I have just spent the last 10 weeks teaching on-line via MS Teams (on antiX-19)
99.9% of the time, no issues, then suddenly it started to crash. Then all was well again.
I thought it was a linux issue only to discover that my colleagues using Apple and/or Windows suffered more crashes!

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.
hi anticapitalista,
I have a kind of fix, although not a true solution.
First I checked the ZOOM help site for anything that might help. Since I saw a black bar appear when the screenshare went missing, I looked at “black screen” errors and ZOOM said to install xcompmgr and then use a specific configuration. When I did that, I could see the meeting controls were still there – but unfortunately they were still unresponsive.
Then I checked on the Impress site and found a suggestion to run the presentation in window mode.
When I did that, all works OK.
They made a comment that ZOOM has a problem with full screen presentation software.
Thanks for response.
