      Hi!

      I’m enjoying zzzFM a lot and have got a lot of extra scripts and things working thanks to the kind assistance here but I want more!! I see it has Video thumbnails (via ffmpegthumbnailer) disabled by default and I would like to experiment with trying that feature unless it is broken and doesn’t work. I have cloned the zzzFM GIT Repo but there are virtually no compilation instructions or a list of Dependencies without rooting through the various Debian rules and control files.. It appears that the developer doesn’t really want it compiled independently and wants you to build it and Package it Debian-style in one pass which is all good. I’m just wondering if I could get a few pointers at how to properly set up the build to build the gtk3 version with thumbnail support and what extra dependencies might be required (if anyone knows offhand)?

      Thanks! Glen

        OK, this was easier than I thought… answer here for others who may care…

        In case anyone else is as ‘feature greedy’ as I am, it appears ffmpegthumbnailing works just fine!

        a) Cloned the zzzFM GIT Repo:
        https://gitlab.com/skidoo/zzzfm

        b) Ensured I had all build dependencies:
        debhelper (= 11), libgtk2.0-dev (>= 2.24), libcairo2-dev, libpango1.0-dev, libx11-dev, intltool, pkg-config, libglib2.0-dev, libgdk-pixbuf2.0-dev, libudev-dev, libgtk-3-dev, libffmpegthumbnailer-dev

        c) Edited zzzfm/debian/rules and changed line 9 to this:
        CONFIGURE_COMMON_FLAGS += --enable-video-thumbnails

        d) Built packages within the cloned ‘zzzfm’ directory with this command:
        dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc

        e) Packages all built successfully, once built I installed them and Voila! Video thumbnails! Yay!
