I installed AntiX 17 after burning the iso to cd and booting. The computer had no OS installed and a 640 GB drive. I partitioned the drive into 3 partitions. Swap, Home and Root. I left around 350 GB unallocated for future considerations ... Another OS. After installation I was left with a non-bootable OS. Grub apparently didn't install. I tried SuperGrub2 Rescue, but it failed to fix the issue. I rebooted to the live cd and tried to boot from HD, but it wouldn't and reported there was no OS installed. I gave deleted the partitions and tried again. The second time was successful. I still have some issues. Random reboots. I think it has something to do with "power saving mode" on the Dell monitor and the PC. I'm not sure, but the system may be losing the video signal to the monitor which causes it to go into power saving mode and that is causeing a reset / reboot. Just before the reboot I see .. Dell entering power save mose. This happens while I'm working on the system, so it has nothng to do witn non-activity. I have tried to post to the forum, but it reboots before I can get this posted. I'll try and write in leafpad and quickly post it. I've checked the video cable and there is a good solid connection on both the pc & monitor. The Monitor is the Dell-U2417HJ. The PC is Acer Aspire 3800 with different CPU. Everything on the machine works fine. Please see the output of inxi -F at bottom. I rebooted the with the Live cd and reinstalled a second time While I was trying to investigate the problem the machine rebooted. It has been doing this and I see a message on the screen just before the reboots .. "entering power saving mode" and then there is a reboot. once I didn't see the message, just a black screen and then a reboot. Once it shutdown. System: Acer M3800 Aspire Desktop. (It come with Vista Home Prem / 64bit) The video cable from the Acer to the Dell Monitor is HDMI. There is no standard vga imput on the Dell monitor.
